How Tuck Pasadena Came to Be
Tuck Pasadena has been my labor of love for about a decade.
Before the store opened in February 2018, I sold a collection of beautiful, hand-picked items from my garage-turned-studio.
For a decade, I did one big Fall season and one big Spring season. I was open select weekends and holidays. And that was it.
One winter evening, while having dinner with my youngest daughter, I looked out of the restaurant window. Across the street sat an empty storefront in an attractive old brick building.
In a flash I knew it was time to say goodbye to the garage. It felt right. Tuck Pasadena opened three weeks later.
Tuck Pasadena exists because a decade ago I couldn’t seem to find anything to buy (for me). Even high-end department stores were cookie-cutter, disorganized, and uninspiring.
Everywhere I saw the same labels. Worse yet, even if I found something I liked, the fit would be all wrong. Or the fabric. Or the color.
You get the picture.
I vowed to take my 20+ years of retail and wholesale apparel experience and do it better.
Tuck Pasadena mixes a chic European sensibility with the laid-back California woman. I am passionate about textiles, high quality garments, and the perfect fit. The store is a giant version of my ideal closet.
A woman feels better when she is comfortable in her clothes. I want you to feel amazing.
xoxo,
Mary Hodgen
